Atherton Tablelands Holiday Park

This park has a real sense of being a true traveller’s park. Most of the people that stay there are either one their way to or coming back from Australia’s absolute tip. That’s why the camp kitchen is always a buzz with excited travellers about to embark on their adventure or returning travellers who are full of great stories.

That’s not the only thing we love about the park. Park host Shawn Rouse and his partner Janine make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive and Shawn’s extra service of jumping on his electric bike and guiding you not only to your site but into your site is a relief for those who aren’t the most confident when it comes to parking their van.

The park itself caters for all types of travellers. Powered sites that can accommodate up to six people, unpowered sites that accommodate the same number of guests and then an array of cabins from a studio type situation right up to a 3 bedroom “Lodge”.

The pool is very inviting and right next to the kid’s playground. It’s a necessity after a day exploring the glorious rainforests in the area either on foot or by bike. It turns out the Atherton Tablelands is a great place for mountain bike riding with the Atherton Forest Mountain Bike Park just five minutes away from the holiday park. If you are an enthusiast you’ll also appreciate the bike cleaning station at the park.

In summary this park is a winner. Great location, wonderful hosts, plenty of accommodation choices, great atmosphere and to top it all off, pet-friendly. Just one more thing that we’re seeing more and more of – which is great – an electric vehicle charging station! Things are changing, slowly but surely.
