Beachside Holiday Caravan Park

What’s Up Downunder editor-at-large Alison Huth and Peter Huth enjoy a warm welcome at Beachside Holiday Caravan Park.

We’ve been to Yeppoon before but never stayed at this park. While we like going back to places we really like, we also like going to places that ‘read’ well on the various sites we all use to check out places to stay. Plus we take on board what others say about a place.

All of that explains why we decided to spend a couple of days at Beachside Holiday Caravan Park. Firstly, it is absolutely beachside. The park is a long strip of land running along the dune line of the coast. The office is about three quarters of the way along the park which means there are two sections, each with its own boom gate.

JUST CAMPING SITES

Secondly it is an all-caravan park, powered and unpowered sites, no cabins, no glamping tents, just caravan sites. We were given the choice between a beach front and street side. We chose beach front which sounded lovely and was, don’t get me wrong, it was a great site with a stunning view to the beach and ocean. It’s just that it was very tight to get in to.

HELP CLOSE AT HAND

Peter is not too proud to ask for help when he needs it, and he did to get on the site. A staff member came along, sussed out the site, sussed out the length of the van, and had a bit of a chat with Peter then just walked along the passenger side window telling Peter what to do. He put us on site in one go, perfectly placed, neat and tidy and straight to the slab. He said he must have just been lucky to get us on site in one go. Rubbish I thought, he was just really good at it and didn’t want to make the people feel bad for asking for help.

IDEAL FOR REST AND RELAXATION

The park is a little way out of Yeppoon, but that was fine with us. We were there to catch up with people we hadn’t seen for quite some time. When we weren’t socialising we were catching up on some sleep and testing out this ‘just relax and do nothing for a while’ idea.

Facilities are four amenities blocks, two camp kitchens with BBQs.

Our stay at Beachside Holiday Caravan Park was really lovely, and we have put that on the repeat list for when we want to repeat.
