Best camp kitchen in Australia?

Owners, staff and visitors alike at Tweed Billabong Holiday Park are over the moon following the grand opening of its new “Australia’s Green Cauldron Kitchen and Lounge”, and, is it any wonder they are all calling it Australia’s best camp kitchen.

As the name suggests, the Kitchen and Lounge is themed around their local area which has been named as a National Landscape ‘Australia’s Green Cauldron’.  They aim to help spread the word about the beauty and diversity of Australia’s Green Cauldron and encourage their guests to explore the whole region.

Holiday Parks have certainly moved on from the humble caravan park as guests prefer the service, facilities, comfort and glamour of a 5 star hotel or resort with the atmosphere of a Holiday Park. First there was ‘glamping’ or glamorous camping, now there is the introduction of glamorous camp cooking. Park owner Andrew Tribe told Whats Up Downunder that this latest addition to Tweed Billabong Holiday Park will add even more value for guests visiting Tweed Heads.

“We wanted to build a room where people would love to spend time in and relax, not simply cook a meal and leave. Our guests are already extremely social, and this will facilitate more gatherings. Our busy grey nomad winter calendar will also expand further with a warm and inviting space for trivia, craft sessions, card games, soup nights, drinks and dinners”, Andrew says.

The deck over the billabong is a great spot to watch the kids kayaking, while the lounge is just what you need to catch up on a good book or watch TV. You can also enjoy good fishing in the billabong, a lazy afternoon on the deck or just throw a shrimp on the BBQ.

Here’s another good reason you should visit Tweed Billabong, especially in June! Whats Up Downunder’s very own Frankie J Holden and Wilbur Wilde will be “on the prowl” at Twin Towns on Friday June 6th to celebrate ‘Cooly Rocks On 2014’ in Tweed and Coolangatta. I had the great pleasure of seeing these guys perform in my home town last year and what a fantastic night it was, and I highly recommend you get along and see them. You can book for the show by phoning 1800 014 014 or on the net at www.twintowns.com.au

This is a great opportunity for all our travelling friends to visit Tweed Billabong and enjoy their fantastic new camp kitchen and take in a great show at the same time. We suggest you book early and give Tweed Billabong a call on 1800 650 405 or visit their web site at www.tweedbillabong.com.au
