BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park Ramps Up Guest Experience

BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park is thrilled to welcome guests to enjoy a raft of new facilities and services now that everyone is free to explore again. Justin Morris, Owner/Manager of BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park, says the Park looks the best it’s ever been since they took over four years ago. He said, it’s all down to the hard work of their dedicated team as well as a clear vision to make it one of the most beautiful holiday parks in Australia.

One of the most impressive additions has been the Park’s commitment to the environment.

“We have made a concerted effort to make the park green. Our team has planted over 1000 trees and shrubs,” said Justin. “We’ve also installed 30kw of solar power panels to the roofs of our amenities to keep our carbon emissions down. Guests appreciate the amount of greenery and shade we offer, especially in summer, which can be very warm in Bendigo. And they’ve told us that the solar panels make them feel good that they’re not wasting precious resources while on holiday.”

Justin proudly described some of the other improvements.

“We’ve laid over 2500 metres of instant turf to reduce the dust and enhance the experience for guests. Guests tell us that they like stepping and laying on the soft, green grass. Our new, fully asphalted roadways have delighted the hundreds of kids riding around on the park pedal carts and their bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and skateboards. Of course, our new modular pump track has been a hit with the little kids as well as teenagers who are often hard to please!”

Adding to the convenience for caravanning and camping guests, BIG4 Bendigo Marong has installed a new sewer to every site, upgraded every powerhead and refurbished the toilet block.

“Our caravan sites are now massive,” enthused Justin.

“We removed eight caravan sites to make the remaining sites into even bigger, concrete Drive-Thru sites so guests can stay hooked up to their caravans and still fit on the sites. The feedback has been fantastic. Guests love being able to drive on and off the site without the hassle and stress of reversing and unhooking and hooking up their van.”

One of the most exciting additions is the X-Golf simulator. A first for holiday parks in Australia, the new X-Golf electronic simulator is popular with guests wanting to improve their handicap or try golf for the first time. “It’s a great bonding experience for families and excellent activity for groups to have some fun and team building. We built a brand new state of the art games room to house the X-Golf, which includes a new pool table and table tennis, so there’s plenty to do in the Park, even in wet weather,” added Justin.

If glamping is on your bucket list BIG4 Bendigo Marong has you covered with luxury choices for couples and families added to their extensive range of accommodation. The bush Park now boasts two luxury, family-sized glamping tents with an ensuite and a glamourous bell tent with an ensuite for couples.

“You don’t often see bell tents with private amenities,” said Justin. “We wanted to go the next level and make it super comfy and convenient for couples to relax and enjoy their experience without traipsing off to the amenities.”

Families and friends visiting Bendigo will be impressed with the latest practical and flexible sleep options offered at BIG4 Bendigo Marong. Two modular studio blocks offer three spacious interlocking units for three couples or extended families. Studios are ideal for families travelling with teenage children who want their own space. Or grandparents to mind younger kids while Mum and Dad explore nearby eateries and wineries. Justin said that the studios have been popular with friends holidaying together and corporates travelling on business.

And for families with younger children or aunties, uncles and cousins travelling together, the new three-bedroom cabins, each with two ensuites, give guests room to breathe without fighting over the loo! “The three-bedroom, two ensuite cabins have views over the shaded, solar-heated swimming pool and playgrounds, so they’re usually the first choice for parents with young children. The kids love being so close to the playgrounds and their mums and dads enjoy it because they can supervise from their deck,” laughed Justin.

Last but not least, dog lovers can also rejoice! BIG4 Bendigo Marong recently added four dog-friendly cabins to their range. Each has large, fenced decks and lockable gates to keep guests’ pooches safe and secure. “We wanted to offer nice, purpose-built accommodation for guests travelling with dogs. In our experience, visitors with dogs get relegated to a basic budget cabin with no real thought for the guest or their dog. These days, more than ever, dogs are family members and need to be accommodated just as much as their owners. Dogs are welcome all year round in our dog-friendly cabins and on all our caravan and camping sites,” Justin added.

BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park is just 12 minutes from Bendigo CBD with easy access to all the great food and drink places and Bendigo’s numerous attractions, including the famous gallery, museum, pottery, science centre, gold mine and vintage tram. Even closer to the Park is the incredible Buddhist temple, the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, Crusoe Reservoir for all sorts of water sports fun. For a delicious family meal and a relaxing drink, the Marong Family Hotel is walking distance.
