Although an early start, we spent a glorious morning tracking the Old Giant Emu Man with Narlijia Cultural Tours from the south end of Cable Beach to Gantheaume Point.
Our 4WD journey started at Didirrgum before dawn, where we found ourselves amongst middens as the sun rose over Roebuck Bay.
The beach is declared a living Indigenous site although many may know it as Kennedys Hill.
Our guide Bart Pigram, however, was eager to show our team a spectacular fossilised theropod he’d only rediscovered just two years ago.
Here, Bart explains to Macca how the fossilised markings link Gantheaume Point and southern Cable Beach with Goolarabooloo’s ancient Dreaming.
