Refurbishments at the Green Mountains campground are advancing, with operators at the O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat anticipating a September launch.
The renovation boosts site numbers, and introduces cooking facilities and fixed safari-style tents to the popular Lamington National Park campground.
GREEN MOUNTAINS REFURBISHMENTS THUS FAR
Already, the new camp kitchen and a communal fire-pit area are nearly complete, with many of the fixed tents being installed, or awaiting landscaping and fit-out.
“The camp kitchen has a beautiful view of the rainforest and the mountains to the west,” says Jane O’Reilly, Projects Manager for O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat.
“It’s going to be pretty spectacular.”
IMPROVED WHEEL-CHAIR ACCESSIBILITY + A BOOST IN CAMPSITE NUMBERS
All the safari-style tents will sleep up to five, says Jane, with two suitable for chair-bound travellers.
O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service redefined the campground, boosting unpowered camping sites to 24, and RV sites to 21, some of which will be powered.
A small community hall and a modern, new ablutions block will top off the renovations at this wonderful campground.
