Caravan industry Icon & life member of the Caravan Parks Association Queensland Ray Fitton had sadly passed.
Ray has had a long and painful battle with cancer for the past ten months and passed away in hospital around midnight last night.
Ray sold Maroochy Palms Holiday Village two years ago after nearly 30 years of ownership, prior to that he owned Garden City Caravan Park in Toowoomba, so he and his wife Kay could enjoy retirement and had just completed construction of their new home when his disease was diagnosed during what was to be some routine day surgery.
Ray had variously been a member of the CPAQ State Management Committee for many years, President of the Sunshine Coast Division on several occasions, Co-ordinator of our Caravan Show stands throughout Australia, and many, many more industry positions.
He was made a Life Member of CPAQ in 1994 and was the inaugural inductee into Queensland Caravan Industry Hall of Fame just a few months ago.
Ray will be sorely missed by all and leaves behind an honorable career and contribution to the Caravanning Industry.
