NRMA increases GVM caps on roads-side assist

Vehicles with a GVM of up to 3.5-tonne will now qualify for emergency breakdown towing across NRMA’s entire range of road-side assist packages. According to NRMA, member feedback was the driving force to the recent changes.

NRMA roadside assist GVM boost

Significantly, this means heavier vehicles can now qualify for all coverage inclusions within NRMA’s top two tier packages–Complete Care and Ultimate Care–including up to 100km in outback towing within NSW, capped towing coverage in metro and country-serviced regions Australia-wide, plus thousands of dollars in breakdown assistance (for things such as car rental and accommodation, and outback towing Australia-wide in the event of a major breakdown).

NRMA Complete Care and Ultimate Care also covers towables with a Gross Vehicle Mass of up to 2-tonne, with the Add-On Vehicle Plus available for travellers towing larger vans. Vehicles with a GVM greater than 3.5 tonne can also be covered with the Add-On Vehicle Plus, which can be attached to Complete Care or Ultimate Care for an additional cost.

Travellers are now also covered for a windscreen chip repair standard in the two top tier roadside assist packages, with the Ultimate Care package now offering up to $500 coverage to recover or replace your keys, should you accidentally lock them in your car or lose them.
