New booking system for Sapphire Caravan Park

Arranging accommodation at the Sapphire Caravan Park is easier than ever before thanks to a new booking system launched on March 1, 2021.

New park owner-operators Victoria and Darrell Bentham introduced the system ahead of the lead up to the 2021 Gemfest (August 12-15).

In fact, at the time of reporting, Sapphire Caravan Park still had vacancies for the iconic event!

SAPPHIRE CARAVAN PARK: CHASING ‘A BETTER LIFESTYLE’

With great bush views, an abundance of birds and wildlife, it’s like staying at a retreat than a caravan park.

“We decided to buy a caravan park to give us a better lifestyle, to meet new and interesting people and spend more time with each other, and to back that up, the feedback we are receiving from people staying here is reinforcing that this is what we are meant to be doing with our lives,” Victoria reveals.

“We live in a beautiful, quirky park of Australia and people come back year after year to stay in our park, so we look forward to making many special memories and long-term friendships.”

‘BILLY BOULDER’ BUILDINGS UNIQUE TO THE GEMFIELDS

The park has 36 power sites, all very spacious, and the layout is designed so sites are not side by side which makes you feel like you are in your own little piece of the Gem-fields.

There are also eight cabins, seven of which are ‘Billy Boulder’–a very unusual style of artisan building which is unique to that part of Australia, and, all the rooms have heating/cooling and a private undercover seating area.

FOSSICKING AREA + OTHER COMMUNAL SPACES

The camp kitchen has the “wow factor” and many reviews say it is one of the best camp kitchens in Australia. The kitchen is in a beautiful Billy Boulder building and looks more like a restaurant than a campsite kitchen.

Included in it is a stove with an oven, slow cooker, blender, bread maker, microwave and plenty of cooking utensils plus a French door fridge freezer. There is also a games corner for the kids and a swap library for the avid readers.

The laundry is kept in pristine condition with three well maintained washing machines and drier. The amenities block is beautifully kept with spotless showers and toilets in two locations so all sites have easy access, and there is also a dump point within the park.

Other amenities include a lovely sparkling pool, fossicking area to wash your dirt and search for your fortune, a communal fire pit and a great wetlands walk.

GEMFIELDS AT THE GEMFEST

The Sapphire gemfields are located in Central Queensland on the tropic of Capricorn, just over 300 klms west of Rockhampton and near the towns of Rubyvale and Anakie. The gemfields are also a place where, apart from having a great time, you could also make a small fortune to continue paying for your holiday around the country.

Each year Sapphire hosts “Gemfest” giving you the opportunity to view some of the world’s most beautiful gems that can be found in the area, and this year it will be held on August 12th to 15th.

If heading to Gemfest then Sapphire Caravan Park has to be the place to stay.
