Diesel is now available to Bedourie travellers, despite the recent blaze at the Simpson Desert Oasis roadhouse.
“People need to pay [for diesel] at the Simpson Desert Oasis then will be given instructions on where/how to pump the diesel as the actual pump is not at the site,” says a spokesperson for Diamantina Shire Council.
THE SIMPSON DESERT OASIS STILL OPEN + OFFERING CARAVAN CAMPING
The Simpson Desert Oasis is also open for vehicle repairs, hardware, motel and caravan park accommodation. Locals and travellers can also purchase basic fruit and vegetables once again, a spokesperson advices.
“ULP and groceries are still a work in progress.”
The Bedourie Royal Hotel is still fully operational offering accommodation, coffee and meals.
SAVED BY VOLUNTEERS
The Council thanks volunteers at the scene who successfully extinguished the fire.
“We are relieved that all involved are safe,” a community spokesperson explained.
