Enjoy magical sunsets in the heart of the Flinders Ranges at the spectacular Spear Creek Caravan Park. More than 8km from the nearest highway, this fabulous property is surrounded by 7000ha sheep station and sheltered with glorious 400-year-old river red gums.
Here, spot one of three different species of kangaroos, echidnas or 85 species of birds including wedge-tail eagles and peregrine falcons that call Spear Creek home, only 25km south-east of Port Augusta (25 minutes).
STARLIT SKIES AT THE SUNSET SEAT
Stretch the legs, and head for the eastern boundary which follows the summit of the ranges north from Horrocks Pass. Make your own way through deep gorges to range top views of upper Spencer Gulf.
Revel in the camaraderie at camp on a fully powered campsite at a formal caravan park setting. Or, establish camp in one of many private bush areas with fire rings, access to flushing toilets and limited power. Then, join fellow adventurers at ‘sunset seat’ as dusk fall over Augusta and the Spenser Gulf. Away from city light, starlit skies put on a show.
YOUR STAY AT SPEAR CREEK CARAVAN PARK
On site, a small kiosk provides long-life essentials as well as spectacular locally-bred lamb dining on salt-bush. Cabin accommodation includes spacious two bedroom bungalows each with its own courtyard and gas barbecue, motel style rooms with ensuite and limited cooking facilities.
For guests staying in their bunk style accommodation or camping in the caravan park, there is a fully equipped kitchen and dining room area.
