Stanthorpe’s Grape Fest returns!

Every second year the town of Stanthorpe in Queensland holds the Apple and Grape Harvest Festival, writes John Westbury. And in 2022 they are full steam ahead beginning 25th February through to the sixth of March. This is an event not to be missed, especially if you are a wine lover and want a laugh at the same time.

The 2022 festival will also coincide with the 150th anniversary of Stanthorpe as a town, so, it won’t be just celebrating the harvest but the great town it is, its people and their stories of how their town got to where it is now.

ORCHARD TOURS & STREET PARADE

From  4th to  6th of March you will be able to enjoy music, wine tasting, food stalls with many local delights and for the kids there will be entertainment in the park. The 5th of March will see a great street parade usually described by  the locals as “a riot of fun”, plus the “home grown celebrities” will create some grape crushing mischief.

Throughout the festival you will be able to visit cellar doors to see grape harvest in action, join a tour of an apple orchard and have stacks more fun. A must go to event will be the Apple & Gala Ball described as a “must do social event”.
