Here, in Charleville, 683km west from Brisbane you’ll see it through state-of-the-art 30in telescope at the Cosmos Centre and Planet. It’s just one of many starring attractions within this vibrant community.



Meet a bilby in the keepers arms, as your guide explains this remarkable creature’s unique connection to Charleville. Then, see them interact with each other in a specialised nocturnal display.

You’ll be supporting their survival at this beautifully-maintained state-of-the-art facility. Operated by the Save the Bilby Fund, the Charleville Bilby Experience is open for a limited seasons. Please check ahead for availability.

Did you know that during WWII, the US Military Service commandeered Charleville’s airstrip to establish a secret base? This remarkable piece of history is shared on a unique audio tour, enjoyed from the comforts of your vehicle.

But you can also wander the brand-new Visitor Centre, as short drive from the Cosmos Centre and Planetarium. Or uncover Charleville’s amazing war-time past in an amazing two-part tour, commencing with a unique 180-degree presentation at the new Cosmos Centre’s new Astro Dome, before joining a guide at the former base.
