Queenstown Cabin & Tourist Park

Queenstown Cabin & Tourist Park

Unhitch the caravan and explore Tassie’s wild winding west from the comforts of the small, family-owned Queenstown Cabin & Tourist Park. Take in glorious views from your cosy ensuite cabin or camp, with Mount Owen and Mount Lyell gracing the skyline and dense rainforest surrounding the park.

SETTING UP CAMP AT QUEENSTOWN CABIN & TOURIST PARK

Queenstown Cabin & Tourist Park offers a true getaway with all the conveniences of historic Queenstown a 20-minute walk or five minute drive. You’re well-accommodated, with grass and gravel sites, both powered and unpowered, suitable for campervans, caravans and camper trailers.

Park owners Fred and Angela will even top up your gas bottles on-site if you can’t do SWAP’n’GO.

TRADITIONAL COMMUNAL SPACES

Set aside quality family time with a traditional games room. Here, you’ll find dominoes, Go Fish and Scrabble plus large format playing cards for visitors with low vision.

Choose to warm up indoors by the wood-fire or crack open the marshmallows among new found friends at the park-managed communal campfire.

LOCAL ADVICE

If you’re after local insight into the region, Fred and Angela will give you the run down on what’s easy, challenging, historic, spectacular or free nearby.

Marvel at Iron Blow Lookout in town, Nelson Falls, a 30-minute drive or the pretty Montezuma Falls a little more than an hour away.

Discover the best spots for a stroll along Franklin River or stretch your legs on secluded spots aboard the West Coast Wilderness Railway.

QUEENSTOWN FOR ADRENALINE SEEKERS

For in-cab 4×4 adventures, uncover mines hidden with local tour company RoamWild. Or, scale Mount Huxley under your own steam, via a challenging, picturesque 4WD track.

There’s ample mountain bike trails in the region, too, with trails opening up at Mount Owen soon.

And from West Coast Wilderness Railway Station, scale water white-water rapids with King River Rafting.
