WATER, WATER, WATER

Water surrounds Second Valley. And you’ll find calm swimming east of the Second Valley Jetty at Second Valley Beach. For place to gently paddle try the delightful Paranancooka Creek. No craft? Not a problem, hire a kayak and all the safety gear from the friendly crew at Second Valley Caravan Park. You’ll find plenty of fishing gear to hire here as well, lightening the holiday load.

Further afield, snorkel crystal clear waters to spot leafy sea horses at Rapid Bay Jetty, 10 or so minutes east of Second Valley. Or, head west to explore fascinating caves at a boulder beach.

From neighbouring Yankalilla and Normanville, ride horseback through mountains onto beach for dusk-lit views, and explore rock-pools on Carrickalinga Beach. Here, you’re 10 minutes from the the Second Valley Forest with overcome ruins and cascading Ingalalla Falls. 

Or, from the caravan park, find great short and medium hikes and 4WDing in the gorgeous Deep Creek Conservation Park.

It’s a casual beach affair back at camp, as you snack on ice-cream and enjoy classic seaside takeaway at the caravan park’s Jetty Store. Or, for a gourmet meal, book lunch in at the historic Leonards Mill.

Grab fresh, local produce from local farmers at the Second Valley Community Market or enjoy delectable baked goods, including vanilla slices and bagels with a coffee, as you browse crafts and hand-whittled woodwork.

YOUR STAY AT SECOND VALLEY CARAVAN PARK

If you’re packing a tent, towing a camper trailer or caravan or driving a motorhome, you’ll find campsites in different sizes, configurations and surfaces to suit your needs. All enjoy lovely views of the hills, and the calming sounds of crashing waves.

And if you’re self-sufficient, you’ll appreciate the dump point onsite.

There’s outdoor showers if you fancy a swim in the beach and a fish sink for scaling your catch. Or for a bit more privacy, check out the individual units with showers within the communal amenities. And with Kangaroo Island hopping at Second Valley’s door, you can take comfort in secure short-term caravan storage as well.
