RUN AMOK AT CAMP

There is so much recreational space within Angelsea Family Park. It’s one of its greatest appeals. A wide open grassy expanse provides room to run, kick a ball and play, and there’s a great nine-hole mini golf course, here, with putter hire for free. And with no-one counting beans you can replay the shot, however many times you want. The jumping pillow is nice and large, and the solar-heated pool is sheltered and clean.

Our kids loved it, with an inbuilt toddler area at one end, and six foot depth at the other, enticing kids of ages to kick back and cool off.

LARGE GROUPS AND COMMUNAL SPACES

Travelling in convoy? You’ll find the perfect space to dine together, with a camp kitchen entirely enclosed. Rounding up the troops on a sporting, community or caravan club event is easier, too, thanks to a sufficient seating in a quiet, comfortable conference room.

The park’s education team delivers an outstanding environmental program for schools and school-age kids, supported by tent-hire facilities to accommodate year-level groups.

ACTIVE IN ANGLESEA

Staying active in Anglesea is easy with the fabulous family-friendly recreation area that follows the Angelsea Foreshore for a kilometre or so. Sheltered barbecues inject sizzle into your picnic day out with a playground – and of course the coast. Enjoy flying for fun at Kids Adventure Outdoors just around the corner.

But you’ll also expend energy biking over wide timber bridges and paths at the Coogoorah Reserve. This wetland area is sort of tucked away, yet just a kilometre out.  Chocolate-tipped charcoal-coloured native grass contrast strikingly against the gentle waterways, which you can navigate by canoe.

Or, just throw a few snags on the barbie and watch the little ones clamber over a pirate ship playground.
